Paris, Dhu-AlHijjah 08, 1437, September 09, 2016, SPA -- Approximately 110 people were stranded Thursday in gondolas in a Mont Blanc cable car system at an altitude of over 3,000 metres, according to French news agency AFP. Police in Chamonix, France confirmed to dpa that occupants were being rescued by helicopter and brought to the valley. Rescue operations were ongoing late Thursday. No further details were available. According to AFP the incident occurred when cables became entangled. Mont Blanc stands at the border of France and Italy.
