Jeddah, Dhu-Al-Hijjah 7, 1438 H., Aug 29, 2017, SPA -- A number of families of Sudan army officers and soldiers who martyred in action during the determination storm and restoration of hope while fighting the Houthi militias in Yemen, thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for hosting them to perform this year's Hajj as part of the Guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Hajj and Umrah program. In interviews following their safe arrival in the sacred places, some of the 250 female and male pilgrims also thanked President Omar Al-Bashier of The Sudan and the Sudan armed forces command for their continuing support and care for the families of the martyrs. Chairman of the hosting committee on the Sudanese side Abdulrahman bin Abdullatif Al-Mahmoud welcomed the pilgrims amid wide coverage of the Saudi and Sudanese media. For his part, Dr. Abdullah Ahmed Mahmoud, member of the group, thanked the Kingdom's leadership and people for warm welcome and generous hospitality. Mustafa Aldood Mahdi wished the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques long live and continuous happiness and health. For his part, Deputy minister of Islamic affairs of the Kingdom Dr. Tawfiq bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudairi said the monarch's order to host families of Sudanese martyrs who took part in the determination storm and restoration of hope comes as part of his care and interest in the affairs of martyrs who sacrificed their souls for the victory of legitimacy in Yemen and defense of Muslims sanctuaries. The Secretary General of the program Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Midleg said the hosting of families of Sudanese martyrs goes in line with similar humanitarian gestures previously offered by the Saudi leadership to martyrs defending the right, citing hosting of families of martyrs belonging to Palestine, and Egypt. --SPA 18:53 LOCAL TIME 15:53 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w477071
