Manila, Dhu-AlQa'dah 6, 1436, Aug 21, 2015, SPA -- A slow-moving typhoon dumped heavy rains in the northern Philippines on Friday triggering landslides and floods that killed at least four people and left four more missing, police and disaster relief officials said. According to dpa, brothers Erwin Celo, 26, and Markim, 21, were buried in a landslide in Itogon town in Benguet province, nearly 200 kilometres north of Manila, according to regional policewoman Cherry Fajardo. In Sabangan town in nearby Mountain province, a 10-year-old boy was also buried in a landslide while his 9-year-old brother was injured, according to regional civil defence chief Alex Uy. A tricycle driver was killed by a falling tree while his passenger was injured in Pinili town in nearby Ilocos Norte province, provincial police spokesman Leonardo Tolentino said. Four more people went missing in the provinces of Abra and Ilocos Norte after they were swept away by flood waters. Civil defence officials said at least 700 people were displaced in the northern provinces as strong winds and heavy rains pummeled their homes. --SPA 20:20 LOCAL TIME 17:20 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
