Taipei, Shawwal 24, 1436, Aug 9, 2015, SPA -- Typhoon Soudelor left six people dead and four missing in Taiwan, dpa quoted authorities as saying Sunday. The body of an 8-year-old girl missing since late last week was found early Sunday. The girl had been swept out to sea with her mother and a twin sister in Yilan County on Thursday. The Central Weather Bureau lifted the typhoon alert Sunday morning, saying there would still be heavy rainfall in the southern and eastern regions, state-run Central News Agency reported. The storm was packing maximum sustained winds of 173 kilometres per hour, with gusts reaching 209 kph. Traffic lights and power lines were down in many parts of the island. State-run Taiwan Power Company said Soudelor had caused electricity outages for about 4 million households, the biggest power loss ever to result from a typhoon in the island's history. The typhoon also left at least 379 people injured. About 7,700 accidents resulted from fallen trees and shop signs, emergency operations officials said. -- SPA 17:23 LOCAL TIME 14:23 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
