Fox Lake, Dhu-AlQa'dah 18, 1436, Sep 2, 2015, SPA -- Police in helicopters, with dogs and armed with rifles were conducting a massive manhunt in northern Illinois into Wednesday after an officer was fatally shot while pursuing a group of men. Authorities said they expanded their search beyond the immediate area in which they had been conducting saturation patrols. They said besides catching the offenders, the heavy police presence is meant to reassure the community.
