Tropical Storm Fred is weakening in the Atlantic

MIAMI, Dhu-AlQa'dah 19, 1436, Sep 3, 2015, SPA -- Tropical Storm Fred is weakening far out over the Atlantic. The storm's maximum sustained winds Thursday at 11 a.m. are 40 mph (65 kph). The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says Fred is expected to weaken from a cyclone to a post-tropical low later Thursday or Friday. Fred is centered about 760 miles (1,225 kilometers) west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands and is moving west-northwest at 9 mph (15 kph). Meanwhile in the Pacific, Tropical Storm Kevin is strengthening. The depression's maximum sustained winds are 50 mph (85 kph).
