Managua, Rabi'I 02, 1436, December 24, 2014, SPA -- Four people were killed Wednesday in violent clashes between farmers and soldiers in southern Nicaragua over a61-billion-dollar canal project, an activist told dpa. Nemesio Mejia, the leader of activist group Council in Defense of Land and Sovereignty, added that 50 civilians were also injured and four people detained in the protests.
