Manila, Safar 17, 1436, Dec 9, 2014, SPA -- A weakened typhoon Hagupit was moving out of the Philippines on Tuesday after killing at least 28 people in eastern and central provinces and displacing more than 1.6 million, dpa cited officials as saying. Hagupit brought only moderate rain and winds to Manila overnight and was downgraded to a tropical depression, packing maximum winds of 60 kilometres per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 80 kph, the weather bureau said. No floods were reported in Manila, a metropolis of 12 million people, where schools, government offices and financial markets had closed as a precaution ahead of the storm's approach. The weather bureau said Hagupit was expected to be out of the Philippines' territory by Wednesday afternoon. --SPA 12:02 LOCAL TIME 09:02 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
