Traffic lights and power lines were down in many parts of the island. Nearly 2 million households were without electricity and around 80,000 were left without running water. The Central Emergency Operation Center said five people were killed as a result of the typhoon, including a woman and her daughter who were swept out to sea. An 8-year-old girl has been missing since Thursday. A man in Yilan was struck by a shop sign and died, while a man in New Taipei City drowned. In southern Taiwan, a firefighter removing branches from a highway was killed by a car. The typhoon also left at least 185 people injured. About 7,500 residents were evacuated from mountains and coastal areas, the center said. --SPA 18:55 LOCAL TIME 15:55 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
