Jeddah, Dhu-AlHijjah 19, 1435, Oct 13, 2014, SPA -- Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting here today with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier. During the meeting, they discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations in various fields in the framework of the Saudi-German Joint Committee on Economic and Technical Cooperation which will hold its 19th session in Riyadh in March. Following the meeting, Prince Saud Al-Faisal and Steinmeier held a joint press conference. Prince Saud Al-Faisal said that we agree on the need to intensify and accelerate international efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis on the basis of forming a transitional authority in Syria in accordance with 'Geneva I'. We also agree that Bashar al-Assad can not be trusted and that he can not be part of the solution as he has lost legitimacy. Prince Saud Al-Faisal also said that the meeting addressed regional and international developments, including the current efforts of the international coalition to fight against terrorism in Iraq and Syria.
