Asked about the potential role of Iran in the regional security, both foreign ministers agreed that it is for Iran to play that role. But, based on experience, Iran was always part of the security problem in the region and never part of the solution, Prince Saud Al-Faisal said. However, he called on Iran to take strategic steps in the near future to show a sincere wish to cooperate with the world community more than before. He stipulated that, had Iran would like to contribute in solving the problems, it should withdraw its forces fighting in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and other places, otherwise it would never be able to play any role in the region. Asked about the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in bringing together the Libyan rival factions, Prince Saud Al-Faisal said the matter depends on the Libyans themselves, noting that his country is ready to contribute to any effort within the Arab League to face what he called the great tragedy and wide-spread chaos. --SPA 23:28 LOCAL TIME 20:28 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
