Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Confirms Commitment to Implement Outputs of World Information Society Summit

Geneva, Sha'ban 8, 1436, May 26, 2015, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed its commitment to the implementation of the outputs of the World Information Society Summit at the national level to achieve the internationally agreed development goals, including those goals contained in the Millennium Declaration and Geneva Action Plan, exceeding authorized limits in accomplishing many of the goals set. This came during a speech delivered here today by Ambassador Faisal Tarad, the representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations before the World Summit Forum on Information. He said that the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has given its attention to the sector of telecommunications and information technology since early when it pursued a privatization program, which aims to raise the efficiency of the national economy and increase its capacity of competitiveness through the liberalization of services markets and opening competition to provide advanced communication services and information technology comprehensively with high quality and affordable prices all over the Kingdom. --SPA 18:50 LOCAL TIME 15:50 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
