The representative of Qatar and GCC to the United Nations Alia Al Thani reiterated the statements by the Yemeni and Saudi representatives In response to reporters' questions about Iran's role and the humanitarian truce, the Yemeni delegate said: "Iran's actions were not positive in the Yemeni crisis. We believe it led to igniting the sedition in Yemen through their support for the Houthis militias. We believe that this action does not justify any role played by them. We object to any negative role, such as what is happening in Yemen." he referred to the continued non-commitment to the truce by the Houthi militias and their allies and their brutal attacks on the city of Aden, Taiz and others adding that it is not possible to have a truce by one party and movement by the other party to achieve its goals. Yemen's representative to the United Nations expressed the Yemeni government's readiness to reach a new truce if there is a full commitment by all parties. On the Geneva conference, the Yemeni representative called on the secretary general to exert pressure on the Houthis and coups people in Yemen to abide by the minimum terms of commitment to sit at the negotiating table, because how can we talk while they are continuing to slaughter our people. In response to a question about Al-Qaeda presence in Mukalla, the Yemeni delegate stressed the importance of getting rid of Al-Qaeda, the Houthi extremism and followers of the Iranian agendas in Yemen. In answering a question on Iran's participation in the Geneva conference to resolve the Yemeni crisis, Ambassador Al-Maalami said that Iran is not a GCC member, not a member of the League of Arab States, not a neighbor of Yemen and not a permanent member of the Security Council and so why should we invite it? and so why should we not invite Brazil and other countries? and so why should we invite it to the conference. For his part, the Yemeni ambassador stressed that Iran has no role in the next Geneva conference and we will not invite. --SPA 02:25 LOCAL TIME 23:25 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
