Saudi Arabia: Universality of Human Rights Does Not Mean Imposing Principles and Values against our Islamic Values and Religion

Geneva, Sha'ban 28, 1436, Jun 15, 2015, SPA -- Ambassador Faisal bin Trad, Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, said that the Kingdom believes that call for universality of human rights does not mean imposition of principles and values against with our Islamic values and religion, stressing rejection of all these values and principles as well as refusal to be used as a means to interfere in the internal affairs of states under the pretext of protection and respect of the human rights. Ambassador Trad renewed demands of respecting the right of states, societies and direct responsibilities in selection of the approach, principles and values that are accepted by their peoples particularly, pointing out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recorded, over the past years, steady economic growth which has a positive impact on all economic and social sectors in addition to all categories of the Saudi people and expatriates on its territory. --More 21:56 LOCAL TIME 18:56 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
