Dutch aid worker freed in Afghanistan

Kabul, Dhu-AlQa'dah 27, 1436, Sep 11, 2015, SPA -- A Dutch aid worker who was abducted by unknown gunmen in Afghanistan's capital has been released after 81 days of captivity, dpa quoted the Dutch Foreign Ministry as saying. Anja de Beer, who was abducted in Kabul city on June 22, was released on Thursday. Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders, said in a statement that she is in the Dutch embassy in Kabul and "is doing well under the circumstances." "I'm pleased to hear that Anja de Beer has been released, putting an end to 81 long days of uncertainty," he said. "I spoke with her, and it was very reassuring to hear she is in good health."
