Cairo, Shawwal 17, 1436, August 02, 2015, SPA -- The Arab League condemned here on Sunday the adoption of Israeli Parliament, last Thursday, the law of "force-feeding" of Palestinian detainees on hunger strike in prisons. "This racist law constitutes a flagrant violation of the privacy of the prisoners and their right to go on hunger strike, and a danger to the lives of prisoners on hunger strike," the Arab League said in a press release. "The international community, civil society organizations, all international bodies and relevant institutions such as the European Parliament, the Council of Human Rights and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) must act immediately to prevent the application of this law which is contrary to the most basic international human rights standards," it added. It called on civil society organizations working in the field of human rights to establish independent specialized committees to monitor and follow up conditions of the Palestinian prisoners and detainees held in Israeli jails. It also asked the world medical institutions to condemn and criminalize the use of force-feeding method by the Israeli occupied authorities. --SPA 23:26 LOCAL TIME 20:26 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
