Cairo, Rabi'I 30, 1437, January 10, 2016, SPA -- The Council of the Arab League condemned the attacks on the Saudi Embassy in Tehran and the Saudi consulate in Mashhad. In a decision issued here today after the end of the emergency meeting held here at the level of foreign ministers at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Council of the Arab League held Iran responsible for these attacks, calling on Iran to abide by international conventions and treaties in this regard, particularly the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations 1963. The council deplored Iran's hostile and provocative statements against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the wake of the execution of a number of terrorists, according to judicial rulings against them. The council considered these Iranian hostile and provocative statements as a blatant interference in the affairs of the Saudi justice and the internal affairs of the Kingdom, such intervention considered incompatible with the UN Charter. --More 00:29 LOCAL TIME 21:29 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
