Sanaa, Ramadan 24, 1436, Jul 11, 2015, SPA -- The World Health Organization says a new truce in Yemen will allow it and other groups to provide desperately needed aid to millions of civilians and respond to some of the country's most serious needs, AP reported. Ahmed Shadoul, WHO Representative in Yemen, says in a Saturday statement that the pause would allow his group and others to increase their response in affected governorates by reaching populations cut off from care and urgently needed health services. The U.N.-declared truce that began at midnight is meant to last through the end of the holy month of Ramadan next week. -- SPA 20:04 LOCAL TIME 17:04 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
