Manila, Dhu-AlQa'dah 15, 1436, August 30, 2015, SPA -- Five workers were killed Sunday when a fire gutted a bakery in a town outside the Philippine capital, a town police chief said, dpa reported. The victims were sleeping when the fire struck a bakery before dawn in the town of Taal in Batangas province, 80 kilometres south of Manila, according to senior inspector Apolinario Lunar. Lunar said the victims were sleeping on the second floor of the bakery and were not able to escape, since the doors of their rooms were locked.
