A statement issued by the Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) regarding the claim that Coalition Forces targeted (tents in Al-Khamis Market) in the directorate of (Khub) in (Al-Jawf) governorate on (17/07/2015) With regard to what JIAT monitored in some media reports that on (17/07/2015) Coalition Forces bombed tents in a specific coordinates in (Al-Khamis) area of (Al-Jawf) governorate, killing (4) people. The JIAT vetted the incident, and reviewed all documents, including procedures and Rules Of Engagement, Daily Mission Schedule, After Mission Report, satellite images, open sources, provisions and principles of International Humanitarian Law and its customary rules. After assessment of evidences, JIAT found that Coalition Forces did not carry out any air missions in the claimed area, and the closest mission Coalition Forces conducted on (17/07/2015) was (60) km away from (Al-Khamis) area on a military target (Al-Houthi armed militia fighters) using one guided bomb that hit its target. After studying the daily mission schedule for the previous and after day of the claim, JIAT found the following: 1. On (16/07/2015), the day before the date of the claim, Coalition Forces did not carry out any air missions in the clamed area, and that the closest mission Coalition Forces conducted was on a military target using a guided bomb that hit its target (60) km away from the claimed position. 2. On (18/07/2015), the day after the date of the claim, Coalition Forces did not carry out any air missions in (Al-Jawf) governorate. By studying and analyzing aerial photographs of the claimed site, JIAT found that the position of the claim is located on an unpaved road in a valley with no residential buildings or tents, with no signs of any air bombing to be seen.
