A statement issued by the Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) regarding the claim that Coalition Forces bombed a civilian house in the residential neighborhood of (Raqqas) in the capital (Sana'a) on (16/05/2019). With regard to what JIAT monitored in some media reports that on (16/05/2019) the Coalition Forces targeted a residential neighborhood in the city of (Sana'a), causing the death and injury of a number of civilians and the destruction of residential buildings, and to what was referred to JIAT by the Coalition Forces considering the possibility of an accidental incident in an operational mission that was carried out on Thursday (16/05/2019), in the capital city of (Sana'a). JIAT vetted the incident, and reviewed all documents, including procedures and Rules Of Engagement, Daily Mission Schedule, After Mission Report, satellite, aerial and photographic images, video recordings of the mission, open sources, and interviews with those involved in planning and mission implementation, provisions and principles of International Humanitarian Law and its customary rules. After the assessment of evidences, JIAT found that based on intelligence information received by the Coalition Forces of a specific location belonging to Al-Houthi armed militia, and is used to support the war effort, which is a multi-storey building located north of (Sana'a) city in an isolated location, and is about (300) meters away from the closest civilian object. With the availability of verification (intelligence information) based on customary rule 16 of customary international humanitarian law, at (8:15) am on Thursday (16/5l2019), Coalition Forces conducted an aerial mission on the military target using two guided bombs, the first bomb hit its target, while the second bomb did not hit the target, the air crew could not spot where it fell. --More 21:39 LOCAL TIME 18:39 GMT 0053 www.spa.gov.sa/w1196793
