Emergency Meeting of AL Foreign Ministers to Discuss Turkish Aggression, on Syria, Concluded

Cairo, Oct 12, 2019, SPA -- The Arab League (AL) council concluded here today its emergency meeting, at the level of Arab foreign ministers, which discussed the Turkish aggression on Syria. The meeting was held upon a request from Egypt, with participation of the foreign ministers of the Arab states and the Secretary General of the AL Ahmed Aboul Gheit. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the meeting was headed by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Member of the Cabinet Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. Arab foreign ministers participating in the meeting expressed condemnation of the Turkish military operations, as it represents a violation of the sovereignty of Syria and poses a threat to regional peace and security, calling on Turkey for an immediate and complete cessation of all military operations, and to withdraw its forces from the Syrian soils, holding it fully responsible for the humanitarian and security consequences, that may result from this serious aggression. On the other hand, Al-Jubeir participated also, in a consultative meeting that included the heads Egypt, Iraq, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates delegations, participating in the emergency ministerial meeting, to discuss the Turkish aggression on Syria. --SPA 17:47 LOCAL TIME 14:47 GMT 0014 www.spa.gov.sa/w1189336
