Riyadh, June 26, 2019, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper said in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia always reiterates its firm position on the Palestinian cause and its solution according to the Arab peace initiative including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. The paper pointed to the Peace for Prosperity conference, which began in Bahrain yesterday, aiming at encouraging investment in Palestinian territories, exchanging ideas, and discussing strategies and mobilizing support for economic investments that can be achieved through the peace agreement. The paper added that despite the importance of the economic field, it must not be on the account of the political side seen as the central of the conflict, and the two tracks must be merged to best solutions for the establishment of a Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967 with the improvement of conditions for the Palestinian people along with restoring their legitimate rights approved by the international community through its decisions and confirmed by the Arab peace initiative in 2002. In another context, Okaz newspaper said in its editorial entitled ''After Closing the Diplomatic Track, Options are Narrowing for Iran'' that the Iranian regime no longer understands the language of diplomacy as it is escalating threats and provocations and targeting of oil vessels and airports through its arms proxies in the region. The paper added that US President Donald Trump has revealed that the military option is still on the table, and that postponing of the strike that was planned after Tehran downed US Drone does not mean canceling it and Iran's rulers should understand the message well and weigh it more than once, because the war would be genocide, If it breaks out. --SPA 14:22 LOCAL TIME 11:22 GMT 0013 www.spa.gov.sa/w1126327
