Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia Reiterates its Firm Stance Towards Legitimate Rights of Palestinians

Riyadh, December 10, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the Cabinet, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reiterated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's firm stance towards the legitimate rights of Palestinians, adding that the Palestinian cause topped the ones being supported by Saudi Arabia at all levels. The paper added that the Cabinet affirmed on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, the importance of the Israeli occupation’s cessation of building settlements on Palestinian territories, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and an obstacle to achieving permanent and comprehensive peace. The paper concluded that and Saudi Arabia’s strong and firm position is the cornerstone of defending legitimate rights of Palestinians for an independent state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem (Al-Quds) as its capital. In another context, Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iraq are seeking to enhance their political and economic relations in order to achieve the common interests of the two countries. The paper added that the telephone calls held between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Iraqi President and HRH Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and Prime Minister of Iraq on other hand confirmed the keenness of the two countries to enhance their relations at all levels. The paper further added that the visit of the Saudi delegation to Iraq, headed by the Minister of Commerce, Acting Minister of Media and Chairman of the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council, and a number of ministers, officials and businessmen has confirmed Saudi Arabia's keenness on achieving the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of the two countries and establishing strong and strategic relations with Iraq after the two countries succeeded in achieving many strategic goals.
