Madinah Al-Munawarah, Jumada II 29, 1439, Mar 17, 2018, SPA -- Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Govrnor of Al Madinah Al-Munawarah Region, said that the Haramain high-speed rail project reflects the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the great level of attention and development stages at the two holy cities in all fields. This project is an extension of its pioneering role in serving the pilgrims and visitors of the holy Prophet's Mosque efficiently and professionally. "The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has informed me of his intention to take the Haramain high-speed rail soon when he visits Medina or departs from it to Mecca." Prince Faisal bin Salman said. Prince Faisal bin Salman highlighted the importance of the project linking Makkah and Madinah through Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City in Rabigh in light of the ongoing efforts to receive 30 million pilgrims in the context of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to diversify revenues. He pointed out that the Haramain high-speed rail is now one of the safe and important transportation services which will enhance the flow of visitors of the two Holy Mosques through the railway link between the two holy cities. The Haramain high-speed rail is one of the largest public transportation projects in the Middle East. It is 450 kilometers long and consists of a double electric rail line connecting the two holy cities. It works with electric power and includes 5 passenger stations. Its speed exceeding 300 kilometers per hour, while its capacity is 60 million passengers annually. Prince Faisal bin Salman, who used the high-speed rail of the two Holy Mosques, as part of the full-path journey and prayed the Friday prayers at the Grand Mosque of Makkah, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the continuous support of the public transportation sector in the Kingdom. The Governor of Madinah expressed his confidence in the performance of the Saudi youth through the services they provide at the stations.
