Foreign Minister holds talks with his German Counterpart

Berlin, Ramadan 12, 1438, June 07, 2017, SPA -- German Minister of Foreign Affairs Sigmar Gabriel received here today the Foreign Minister, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir. The two ministers held talks on ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, joint efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, and developments on the regional and international arenas. Al-Jubeir described the talks as "constructive", pointing out that they dealt with several issues, including the crisis in the GCC. He explained to his German counterpart the reasons for the Kingdom and a number of countries to take actions against Qatar, and hoped that Qatar will respond positively to end its support for extremist organizations, interference in the region countries affairs and become a neighbor and partner. He added that Saudi Arabia is one of the founding countries of the International Alliance to fight ISIS, and it is one of the countries that is doing an effective job in these efforts, expressing the hope that efforts will be exerted to eradicate terrorism scourge in all its forms. He explained to his German counterpart the results of the historic summit in Riyadh, which brought together the Arab and Islamic countries and the USA, the goals achieved and the desired results in the future. For his part, the German Foreign Minister said that his country supports all measures that contribute to defusing the crisis in the GCC.
