Cairo, Rabi'I 21, 1438, Dec 20, 2016, SPA -- Arab foreign ministers and their European counterparts today expressed concerted profound concern over deteriorating humanitarian situations in Syria, strongly denouncing the airstrikes Assad regime is launching against civilians in Halab (Aleppo). In their ministerial declaration following their joint meeting at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo today, they confirmed determination to get embarked on a rehabilitation program in Syria once a comprehensive political transitional phase is reached. They underscored the importance of achieving a comprehensive, fair and constant peace based on a two-state solution in Israel-Palestine, calling on the world community to shoulder its responsibilities in keeping the world peace and security. They denounced Israel's unilateral practices and policies it was adopting in the occupied eastern Al-Quds, including the illegal settlements, calling for respecting the international law and Geneva Convention 1949 and lifting the siege on Gaza strip. They expressed support for the Yemeni government, led by President Abdrabbou Mansour Hadi, denouncing unilateral measures taken by Houthi militias and forces loyal to Saleh, citing the formation of an illegal government recently. The expressed respect to the unity, sovereignty and integrity of the territories of Libya, rejecting foreign intervention in its affairs, and welcoming the appointment of a special representative of the UN secretary general to Libya. They also extended political support for the national reconciliation government as the country's sole legitimate administration.
