Hajj / WHO for Middle East Congratulates the Kingdom on Success of Organizing Hajj Season

Mina, Dhu-AlHijjah 12, 1437, Sep 14, 2016, SPA -- Vice President of the World Health Organization (WHO) for the Middle East Dr. Jawad Al-Mahjour has congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its success of organizing this Hajj season which is free of epidemic diseases or healthy problems. During his participation in the press conference held by Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabeeah, Dr. Al-Mahjour added that the WHO expressed great appreciation and thanks to all personnel working in the field of health and volunteers for their great efforts in serving pilgrims. "The WHO responded to a request of the Saudi Health Ministry regarding providing a work team during this Hajj season in the field of epidemiology, disease control and communication of risk. The organization stressed importance of procedures of decreasing risks regarding the public health applied by the Saudi Ministry of Health in securing a safe Hajj season in accordance with requirements of the International Regulations (2005)," he added.
