Riyadh, Rajab 03, 1437, April 10, 2016, SPA -- The Arab Coalition Command announced this evening that, in response to a call from Yemeni President Abdrabbou Mansour Hadi, it will be committed to observe a ceasefire from 23:59 falling on 3 Rajab 1437 H. corresponding to April 10, 2016 and will reserve for itself the right to respond once the Houthi side and their supporters have breached the agreement. The announcement said the Yemeni government has notified the UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Alshiekh Ahmed of its acceptance to ceasefire on April 10, 2010 to pave the way for consultations to be held in Kuwait on April 18, 2016 and that the ceasefire will hold until 12:00 noon of the next day of the end of consultations in Kuwait unless the agreement was extended. Once extended, the Yemeni government is obliged to notify the Coalition Command of the decision, the announcement said. However, the Coalition Command will preserve for itself the right to respond, had the Houthi and their supporters violate the ceasefire. In conformity with the efforts being exerted by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia aiming to find a comprehensive calming of the situation and achieving ceasefire between the legitimate government of Yemen on one hand and the Houthi militias and their supporters on the other to stop bloodshed and continue medical and relief supplies to war-stricken provinces and regions and in support for the efforts being exerted by the United Nations to create positive atmosphere to pave the way for the launch of consultations in Kuwait, the Coalition Command would remain committed to ceasefire but reserve for itself the right to respond to any violations, the statement said. --SPA 22:07 LOCAL TIME 19:07 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
