Kabul, Dhu-AlQa'dah 14, 1436, Aug 29, 2015, SPA -- A pro-government militia commander and five police officers were killed in two attacks which saw Taliban militants ambush a security checkpoint and plant a roadside bomb in eastern Afghanistan, an official said Saturday. "Taliban rebels attacked a security checkpoint in Andar district on Friday evening, killing four local policemen," said Nasir Faqiri, a member of the provincial council in eastern province of Ghazni. He said that shortly afterwards, a pro-government militia commander and his bodyguard were killed when their vehicle - which was on its way to help those being ambushed - struck a roadside bomb. Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, in which eight other police officers were injured. --SPA 19:24 LOCAL TIME 16:24 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
