Miami, Ramadan 27, 1436, Jul 14, 2015, SPA -- Hurricane Dolores strengthened slightly off the Pacific coast of Mexico on Tuesday and is expected to become a major hurricane Wednesday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said. The storm was about 400 kilometers southwest of Cabo Corrientes and had maximum sustained winds of 137 kilometers per hour (kph), the Miami-based NHC said. Dolores, currently a category-1 hurricane, was moving west at 11 kph and was not expected to hit the coast. "Additional strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours," the NHC said. In June, Hurricane Blanca threatened to hit Mexico's Baja California Peninsula but caused only a fraction of the damage that Hurricane Odile did last September. --SPA 20:45 LOCAL TIME 17:45 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
