Miami, Ramadan 28, 1436, Jul 15, 2015, SPA -- Hurricane Dolores quickly strengthened into a powerful category-4 storm in the Pacific Ocean off Mexico's west coast. The storm's maximum sustained winds early Wednesday were near 215 kilometers per hour (kph), with some additional strengthening expected during the next day, before Dolores begins to weaken on Thursday, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said. The hurricane was centered about 500 kilometers south of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and was moving west-northwest, away from land. Surf generated by Dolores is affecting parts of Mexico's southwestern mainland coast and the southern coast of the Baja California Peninsula.
