Beirut, Jumada II 9, 1436, Mar 29, 2015, SPA -- Saudi ambassador to Lebanon Ali bin Awad Asiri described the speech recently delivered by the Secretary General of Hezbollah Hasan Nasrallah as reflecting the confusion of the parties he represents, containing a lot of fabrication and false accusations against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in addition to many fallacies aiming at altering the facts and confusing the public. In a press statement issued here today, he said it is well-known that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has no double standard and has several times announced that the Lebanese presidency is an internal affair in which it is not interfering, in general, or in its nomination process, in particular but supports whoever chosen by the Lebanese people as president of the country. The ambassador said Nasrallah's attempt to hold Saudi Arabia's foreign minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal responsible of this issue, is aiming at throwing dust in the eyes and escaping from shouldering the responsibility of obstructing the presidential elections as almost all Lebanese believe that Hezbollah and its regional allies are responsible of its delay. On Yemen, Asiri said the efforts exerted by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC member states along with the United Nations over the previous period is yet another evidence that it was sincerely working for the good of Yemen to reach a peaceful solution to preserve the unity of the country and safety of its people but the foreign quarters who are supporting Hezbollah of Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen don't want to bring peace and goodness to Yemen, foiling all previous agreements and sending the security situation to escalation and deterioration. On the Palestine issue, ambassador Asiri said nobody could challenge the support Saudi Arabia has rendered over the years and still offering to the Palestinian people without reminding anybody of this favor because Saudi Arabia believes that the Palestinian issue is its priority and Arab nation's central issue. The surprise comes from those who pretend to support the Palestinian cause and change it to a political gambling issue working day and night to drive a wedge among the Palestinian organizations and factions sowing discord among them and foiling any sincere attempt which falls in the interest of the Palestinian people or state. Asiri concluded that the positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are clear and sincere and doesn’t need a witness from any as they are actions and not only words, receiving appreciation of the Arab and Islamic countries. It would be better if some pretending authorities stick to the prudence of the leaders of the Kingdom and their keenness on the Arab and Islamic nations and support for the Arab and Islamic issues instead of seeking to destroy the Arab unity and confuse the peoples and exploit the nation's issues. --SPA 20:59 LOCAL TIME 17:59 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
