UNITED NATIONS, Jumada I 13, 1436, Mar 4, 2015, SPA -- The United Nations said Wednesday that representatives of Libyan leaders have been invited for talks next week in Algeria as part of efforts to resolve the country’s conflict. “The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announces that a meeting of representatives of Libyan political leaders and activists will convene early next week in Algeria,” UNSMIL said in a statement. “The mission continues to reach out to leaders of armed groups to work on reaching a ceasefire, and urges all groups to constructively engage with its efforts in this regard.” Meanwhile, Abdelaber Messahel, Algeria’s minister for African and Maghreb affairs, said that his country has already hosted secret meetings in recent months between 200 Libyan figures. --SPA 19:43 LOCAL TIME 16:43 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
