Srinagar, Kashmir, Rabi'II 22, 1436, Feb 11, 2015, SPA -- One person was killed and several others were feared missing after they were caught in an avalanche Wednesday in the ski resort of Gulmarg in India-administered Kashmir, police said. According to dpa, Bashir Ahmad Bakhshi, 28, a local resident who acted as a guide for skiers was trapped in the avalanche and died, senior police official Mir Sohail said. The local administration and police have launched a search operation for skiers and local people who may have been buried in the snow. Sohail said locals had informed police that two groups of people were out on the slopes when the avalanche hit the area.
