Sarasota, Florida, Muharram 7, 1438, Oct 8, 2016, SPA -- Hurricane Matthew moved further up the south-eastern coast of the United States on Saturday after leaving hundreds dead and thousands homeless in Haiti. According to dpa, the US National Hurricane Center reported storm surges bringing up to a 1.5-metre rise in water levels and maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometres per hour along the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina, warning of deadly flooding over the next 36 hours in Florida and North Carolina as well. "Although weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, Matthew is expected to remain a hurricane while the center is near the coasts of South Carolina and North Carolina," the centre statement read.
