Saudi Arabia calls on international community to implement resolutions of international legitimacy in number of issues

Cairo, June 18, 2019, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia called on the international community to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy, the most recent of which is the Security Council resolution No. 2334 (2016) condemning Israeli settlement in the Palestinian territories and the confiscation of land. It also demanded that the countries not transfer their embassies to Al-Quds (Jerusalem) or recognize it as the capital of Israel. This came in a speech delivered by the Saudi Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt Osama bin Ahmed Nugali, who is also the Permanent Representative of his country to the League of Arab States, and leader of the Kingdom's delegation to the fifth session of the strategic political dialogue at the senior officials level and the 16th session of the Senior Officials' which was held in the United Arab Emirates in the capital Abu Dhabi over two days and concluded earlier today. He stressed the importance of a comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East as a strategic Arab option embodied by the Arab peace initiative adopted by all Arab countries at the 2002 Beirut Summit and supported by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
