6th News Agencies World Congress Opened in Bulgaria

Sofia, June 13, 2019, SPA -- President Rumen Radev of the Republic of Bulgaria opened today the 6th News Agencies World Congress in Sofia, Bulgaria. In his speech, the President welcomed the audience, wishing them and the works of the Congress all success. He also addressed the challenges being faced by news agencies in the digital age and the importance of awareness in presenting real news objectively and away from false news. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation was headed by the President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) and President of the 4th News Agencies World Congress Abdullah bin Fahd Al Hussein. Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency, Maxim Minchev delivered a speech in which he welcomed the audience. He also expressed his thanks to the Presidents of the Congress at previous sessions held in Moscow, Spain, Argentina, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan and for their efforts to improve the future of the agencies and seek opportunities for their development. President of the News Agencies World Council Clive Marshall delivered a speech in which he pointed out that 200 delegates of more than 90 news agencies and news organizations are attending the Congress.
