SPA, Khiyrat Association Promote Culture of Saving Food Among Members of Society

Riyadh, June 11, 2019, SPA -- The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) signed today a Memorandum of Understanding with Khiyrat Association for Saving Food, whose Honorary President is Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, to support the Association's charitable efforts to preserve food surplus and meet needy families. The MoU was co-signed by President of the Saudi Press Agency, Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein, and Supervisor General of the Association, Abdullah bin Obaid Al-Subaie, at the headquarters of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) in Riyadh. President of SPA said in a statement that this MoU falls within the framework of the interest of the Saudi Press Agency to support the charitable work being urged by our Islamic religion and pursued by the leadership in all charitable and humanitarian fields, pointing out that SPA will work with the Association to spread the culture of charitable work among members of the society, enhance the concept of social responsibility, and raise the level of public awareness among citizens and residents alike towards the preservation of food. He also said that SPA, with the support of the Minister of Media and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Press Agency Turki bin Abdullah Al-Shabanah, provides media services to registered charities in the Ministry of Labor and Social Development through supporting them by spreading their humanitarian activities that serve the society and highlighting their various roles, wishing the Association all success in its charitable work. For his part, the Supervisor General of Khiyrat Association for Saving Food Abdullah Al-Subaie expressed his thanks to the Saudi Press Agency for its assistance to charitable associations through its continuous transmission of media information that benefits the society and reinforces the importance of the message of charitable work, which encourages all to take part in it.
