Riyadh, May 28, 2019, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieved the biggest progress among the most high-ranking competitiveness countries in the IMD World Competitiveness ranking 2019 according to a statement issued by the World Competitiveness Center which is affiliated with International Institute for Management Development (IMD). The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia advanced 13 positions, in comparison with the last year, and ranked 26. The Kingdom occupied the seventh rank among the Group of Twenty (G20) bypassing a number of advanced economies in the world, such as South Korea, Japan, France, Indonesia, India, Russia, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa, Brazil and Argentina. The IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2019 includes four main axes to measure competitiveness of 63 states around the world. The Kingdom improved its rank in three fields, "Government Efficiency" from 30 to 18, "Business Efficiency" from 45 to 25, and "Infrastructure" from 44 to 38. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr. Majed bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Investment, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Competitiveness Center (NCC), affirmed that improvement of the Kingdom's ranking reflected an integration among more than 40 governmental bodies taking part in implementing reforms for serving business environment in the Kingdom and raising its competitiveness among the states in the world in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030. --SPA 23:25 LOCAL TIME 20:25 GMT 0038 www.spa.gov.sa/w1110395
