Riyadh, Apr 23, 2019, SPA -- The Public Transport Authority said in a report that the Kingdom has managed to raise its national maritime fleet capacity to more than 7.6 million tons of goods and goods, by the end of 2018, an increase of 50% compared to 2017, making the Saudi fleet to rank as the 23rd globally speaking, in 2018, out of the 174 the International Maritime Organization (IMO) member states, having been the world's 32th ranking in 2017 In this regard, the President of the Public Transport Authority Dr. Rumih Al-Rumaih stressed that the generous support of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HR Crown Prince, were directly reflected on the reality of the maritime transport industry in the Kingdom. Al-Rumaih praised also the role of the private sector represented by maritime companies in the promotion of this industry, recognizing the economic value of the Kingdom as being one of the largest oil exporting countries in the world and among the largest commercial markets associated with maritime transport.
