Paris, February 22, 2019, SPA -- A delegation from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center represented the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia here yesterday at a high-level meeting of Development Assistance Committee (DAC). The Center's delegation was headed by Assistant Director-General for Planning and Development Dr. Aqeel bin Jumaan Al-Ghamdi. The participants discussed the challenges of refugees and migration facing participating States. Dr. Al-Ghamdi stressed the kingdom's interest in the issue of migration and refugees, explaining that the Kingdom has provided in the last eight years more than one billion US dollars to alleviate the suffering of refugees in the world and support their hosting communities through 156 humanitarian and relief projects, $239.7 million for UNHCR, hosting 561,000 Yemeni visitors in the Kingdom, 262,000 Syrian people, 249.000 Rohingya people. -- SPA 16:13 LOCAL TIME 13:13 GMT 0012 www.spa.gov.sa/w841572
