Erdogan wins Turkish election with 97.7 per cent of votes counted

Istanbul, Shawwal 11, 1439, June 25, 2018, SPA -- Incumbent Recep Tayyip Erdogan has won presidential elections in Turkey with 97.7 per cent of votes counted, the country's Supreme Election Council says, according to state news agency Anadolu. "The results show Mr Recep Tayyip Erdogan gained an absolute majority of valid votes," council head Sadi Guven said. Around 97.7 per cent of votes had been entered into the commission's system, he said, according to dpa.
