In recognition of the international standing of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its influential role regionally and internationally through the United Nations, Islamic and Arab organizations, GCC and the G20, its relations have formed an important hub with influential countries worldwide, including Britain. For several decades, Riyadh capital city has been an active hub in international politics and an attractive economic center for investment. On the visits paid by the Queen Elizabeth II of Britain and other British officials to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the kingdom in 1979 hosted the Queen Elizabeth II of Britain while Prince Charles of Wales visited it in 1986, 1988, 1990, 1993, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2003, 2005 and 2006; former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in 1981 and 1984; former Prime Minister John Major in 1990, 1992 and 1994; and former Prime Minister Tony Blair in 1997 , 2001, 2005, where these visits between the officials have had a significant impact in deepening relations between the two friendly countries. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest trading partner in the Middle East for Britain as Britain ranks fifth among the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's exporting countries.
