Riyadh, Rabi'II 15, 1439, Jan 2, 2018, SPA -- The medical and surgical team assigned to carry on separation surgery for the Palestinian Siamese twins Farah and Haneen held a meeting here tonight, in the presence of the Advisor, at the Royal Court, who is also the Supervisor General of King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabi'ah. The meeting falls in line with instructions of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense to airlift the twins to the Kingdom from Jordan, in order to check up the potentials of treating them, through undergoing a separation surgery, a conclusion that the medical team has reached, as it found that Haneen is a viable and complete baby contrary to the case of Farah, which has been diagnosed as a non-complete and a parasite-like organism, with neither a heart nor a lung. Henceforth, the team decided to go ahead with the surgery, in order to save the life of Haneen, on Sunday. On the other hand, Dr. Al-Rabi'ah remarked that the odds for the surgery to be a success are running high up to 70 per cent, which is a good ratio compared to other previous similar cases, which were more difficult and hazardous, concluding that Farah is completely depending on its twin Haneen, for blood circulation provision. -- SPA 18:48 LOCAL TIME 15:48 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w578965
