Yemen's Permanent Delegation to UNESCO Organizes a symposium on preservation of heritage and antiquities in Yemen

Paris, 10 Rabi'I,1439 AH, 28 November,2017 , SPA -- The Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Yemen to The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) held a joint symposium with the Gulf Research Center entitled "Preservation of Heritage and Antiquities in Yemen and Humanitarian Aid in the Humanitarian Crisis" at the headquarters of the Organization in Paris today in presence of Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Mohammed Al Jaber, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to France Dr. Riad Yassin, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to UNESCO Dr. Ahmed Sayyad, President of the Gulf Research Center Dr. Abdulaziz bin Othman Bin Saqr, the official spokesman of the forces of the Coalition for Supporting the Legitimacy in Yemen Colonel (Group Captain) Turki Al-Maliki, Director of International Relations and Partnerships at King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center Dr. Yahya Al-Shammari, and a number of officials in the Organization, academics and media personnel. Addressing the symposium, Colonel Turki Al-Maliki reviewed the efforts of the Coalition in Yemen to preserve historical and cultural heritage there, noting that for more than two years to start military operations to support and restore legitimacy in Yemen, coalition's efforts continue to preserve the heritage and culture of Yemen, not only because it is Yemen, but it is the origin of Arabs and the land of civilization, as the coalition maintained the alternative capital "Aden" from falling into the hands of coupists in order to retain the symbolism of the constitutional state, it is the moral and legal duty to maintain its historical and cultural capabilities and achievements that reflect the national identity as it belongs to humanity and future generations. --More 14:30 LOCAL TIME 11:30 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w548385
