Paris, Dhu-AlHijjah 15, 1438, September 06, 2017, SPA -- The launch of a rocket from the European spaceport in French Guiana was aborted Tuesday in the last seconds of the final countdown after an anomaly was detected, according to dpa. The launch of the Ariane 5 rocket carrying two satellites was automatically shut down as the rocket's main engine was being ignited, satellite launch company Arianespace said. The rocket was immediately switched to a safe mode, and the cause of the anomaly was being investigated, the company said. The launch from Kourou, on the Atlantic Coast in the French overseas department in South America, was planned to be the company's fifth Ariane 5 mission in 2017. Arianespace was founded in 1980 as a commercial satellite launch company. Its shareholders include Airbus Safran Launchers, the French space agency CNES and the space companies of 10 European countries. --SPA 03:44 LOCAL TIME 00:44 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w482155
