Hanoi, Dhu-AlHijjah 12, 1437, Sep 14, 2016, SPA -- Two workers were still missing after being swept away by rushing water when a hydroelectric dam burst in central Vietnam, authorities said Wednesday according to dpa. The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, when water overflowed in an underground tunnel at the dam in Quang Nam province. Heavy rain caused by tropical storm Rai was responsible for higher than usual water levels at the dam, deputy chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Huynh Khanh Toan, told a press conference. Initial media reports also said 30 local inhabitants went missing after being hit by rushing water, further down river from the dam. But local chief of police Nguyen Viet Loi said that all those reported missing had since returned home safely or been found. --SPA 12:08 LOCAL TIME 09:08 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
