MIAMI, Florida, Dhu-AlQa'dah 27, 1437, Aug 30, 2016, SPA -- Hurricane Madeline has grown to a dangerous Category 4 storm as it heads toward Hawaii, U.S. forecasters said Tuesday, warning of dangerous flash floods and mudslides from its winds and rain. According to the NWS, the storm – packing maximum sustained winds of 215 kilometers per hour (khp) – is expected to pass near Hawaii’s Big Island sometime Wednesday. Madeline threatens to disrupt a planned visit by President Barack Obama and other dignitaries to Hawaii for the World Conservation Congress, a major meeting of thousands of delegates, including heads of state, scientists, and policymakers.
