Kabul , Shawwal 12, 1437, July 17, 2016, SPA -- Three doctors working for the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) were released Saturday, an official said, three days after their abduction by militants in northern Afghanistan, dpa reported. Tribal elders and security forces collaborated in freeing the doctors, local new agency ToloNews reported, citing Zabihullah Amani, governor spokesman in the province of Sar-e Pul. The doctors were seized by the Taliban in the northern province on Thursday as they were "providing medical assistance to villagers in Ahoo area of Sayaad district," Amani said. The organization provides healthcare services to remote areas and villages without access to medical clinics. --SPA 10:38 LOCAL TIME 07:38 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w
